Instant Pot Apple Butter

Quick and easy apple butter that is the perfect fall topping to any favorite breakfast toast, biscuit or oatmeal! Vegan, gluten, refined sugar and oil free, this apple butter is sweet, spiced and good for you!

  • 3 lbs peeled and sliced apples (I used gala)
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt



Serving Suggestion:

Serve as a topping for toast, biscuits, oatmeal, etc.

How To:

  1. Start by peeling and coring your apples, then cut each apple into 8 even slices.
  2. Then, to your instant pot, add your sliced apples, apple cider, coconut sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, ground cloves, nutmeg and sea salt. Stir to combine.
  3. Clove instant pot and cook at high pressure for 15 minutes.
  4. Once timer is done, release pressure for at least 15-20 minutes, then remove lid and allow mixture to cool. Stir often to release steam.
  5. When apples have cooled and are no longer steaming hot, add to a high speed blender or food processor. If you have an immersion blender, you an keep apples in instant pot and blend there.
  6. Blend apple mixture until completely smooth.
  7. Once blended, add apple butter mixture back to the instant pot and place on sauté setting, stirring constantly until apple butter mixture has thickened. This usually takes between 5-10 minutes.
  8. Then, turn off instant pot and allow apple butter to cool.
  9. Store in air tight containers or jars. Serve as a topping to any of your favorite breakfoods or desserts!
