Crispy Brussel Sprouts with grainy mustard sauce is the perfect appetizer, sider dish, bar snack or meal! Be warned, they are seriously addicting!

Fried Brussel Sprouts

  • 1 1/2 pound peeled and halved Brussel Sprouts
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (can also use vegetable or canola oil)
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Grainy Mustard Sauce

  • 2 tbsp whole grain mustard
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • Salt and pepper

Serving Suggestion:

Serve hot topped with grainy mustard sauce or sauce of your choosing!

How To:

  1. Start by heating a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Then, add the extra virgin olive oil.
  2. Once the oil is hot, add your brussel sprouts halved side down. Let sit undisturbed for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, flip to check, the brussel sprouts should achieve a dark caramelized color. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes if the sprouts are still too pale.
  3. Then, add your salt, pepper and garlic powder. Stir the brussel sprouts so the seasoning is evenly dispersed. Continue to cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, stirring every couple of minutes until brussel sprouts are browned and crispy.
  4. While Brussel sprouts continue to cook, make your mustard sauce by mixing whole grain mustard, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup and salt and pepper to taste. Try the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. If you want a creamier sauce, add 1 tbsp of vegan mayo!
  5. Remove Brussel Sprouts from heat, and taste to make sure they are fully cooked.
  6. Drizzle sprouts with mustard sauce, serve hot and enjoy!
