Serving Size:

Buttery puff pastry combined with your choice of biscoff cookie butter or hazelnut spread makes the perfect quick and easy, shareable dessert! Perfect for last minute Christmas Eve baking!

  • 2 sheets of vegan puff pastry
  • 1 container of biscoff cookie butter or hazelnut spread
  • 2-3 tbsp of non dairy milk

Serving Suggestion:

Serve warm topped with your favorite Christmas decorations, like icing or sprinkles!

How To:

  1. Start by removing your puff pastry from the freezer and let thaw for about 40 minutes.
  2. Then, while pastry is thawing, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Next, lightly flour a clean surface and place down one sheet of thawed puff pastry.
  4. Using a rolling pin, roll out your puff pastry sheet to a 10in x 12in rectangle.
  5. Then, do the same thing to the second sheet of puff pastry so they are the same size.
  6. Next, generously spread on your cookie butter or hazelnut spread into a triangle shape that starts at the top center of your pastry and comes down to the bottom two corners, shaped like a Christmas tree.
  7. Place your second sheet of puff pastry over the top and cut the two sheets into the triangle shape you made with the cookie butter. Save the leftover puff pastry!
  8. Using a pairing knife, cut 1 inch slits in either side of the triangle to make the "tree branches", leaving about 1-1 1/2 inch "tree trunk" going up the center of the pastry.
  9. You should have a long, uncut trunk going up the center, and 12, 1 inch pieces going up either side.
  10. Then, using your hands, twist the pieces on either side about 2 twists, pressing down at the ends. Repeat this step until all of the "tree branches" are twisted on either side.
  11. Then, brush your puff pastry tree with a few tbsp of non dairy milk.
  12. Place in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown.
  13. While your Christmas tree bakes, use the leftover pastry to cut into shapes for decorations! Like snowflakes or stars.
  14. When the the time has about 15 minutes left, place your pastry shapes into the oven on the baking sheet to bake until golden brown.
  15. Once cooked and golden, remove from the oven and let cool for about 5 minutes. Top with decorations, serve and enjoy!
