Chocolate Banana Bread

Vegan, gluten free and refined sugar free, this decadent, healthy, moist and simple to make chocolate banana bread is the best breakfast, afternoon snack, or dessert!

  • 1 1/2 cup of gluten free 1:1 baking flour
  • 1/2 cup cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 2 large ripe bananas (plus 1 extra banana for optional topping)
  • 1/2 cup non dairy milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup refined sugar free vegan chocolate chips

Serving Suggestion:

Serve warm topped with extra banana, nut butter or chocolate chips!

How To:

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees fahreneheit. Then, line a loaf pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Then, in a large mixing bowl, add your gluten free flour, cacao powder, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda and sea salt. Whisk until fully combined.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, add your ripe bananas and mash with a fork until smooth. Then, add your non dairy milk, coconut sugar, melted coconut oil, vanilla extract, and apple cider vinegar. Mix until fully combined.
  4. Then, add your wet ingredients to your dry ingredients and mix together until fully combined and uniform.
  5. Add your batter to your lined loaf pan. Top with additional sliced banana and chocolate chips.
  6. Place in the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Make sure not to overcook the bread, the center should be moist.
  7. Once cooked, remove from the oven and let sit in the loaf pan for at least 10 minutes or until fully cooled.
  8. Lift up the parchment paper to remove it from the pan, slice and serve!
